Why is it called La Merecida ?

The name reflects the rewarding journey to reach this incredible place, perched 480 meters above sea level.

The steep path leading to it is a challenge : taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes on foot or just 30 minutes by 4×4.

But the climb is well worth it,
and that’s precisely why this nature reserve is named “La Merecida” which means “the one that deserves” in Spanish.
